  1. I love reading through these! Just wanted to let you know that the link to Chapter 6 (of 50 Shades of Grey) links to a non-existing page.

  2. I loved these last year, and I love them still, and I've totally referred back to these in my effort give E.L. James the smackdown on my blog because ... because she is planning to release a book teaching people how to write in a month and a half. I know that sounds like I made it up, like it should be an Onion thing, but I didn't, and it isn't.

Thanks again for torturing yourself like this!

  3. For some reason Ch. 1,3,4,5 do not show up. I hope you can added them again. I am so excited that you are recapping book 2&3!

  9. Why aren't there links to all the new recap posts from Fifty Shades Freed? It makes them hard to find and read.

  10. Please add the 50 Shades Freed recaps, here. =)

  11. Dear Jennifer Armintrout,

Came by your blog and read your 50 Shades recaps - I enjoyed reading them more than I did the first book! (Yes, I am one of those idiots who got the book - regretted it ever since!). Your recaps on Book 2 made me laugh and ever so grateful for the effort and torture you put yourself through. I'll be cheering for you on this side of the world until you finish recapping Book 3!

    Cheers,
    Kavita

  12. Just wanted to thank you for doing these. I stumbled on them a few weeks ago, and I just got out of an abusive relationship three months ago and only managed to totally cut my abuser off last week, and reading these has really helped me stop second-guessing and blaming myself by solidifying that I was experiencing serious abuse. The content of the books is really triggering, but in a way I'm finding that very validating. So, thank you for putting these up. I've found them very personally helpful.

  14. I just spend three days with you reading these. When you got to the part where he tells her not to pee, and then you posted that photo, I laughed so hard I almost cried. I just pulled it up to share with my sister and just seeing your face again, laughed for another solid 5 minutes. I'm chuckling now just thinking about it.

Thank you. Thank you for reading this drivel. Thank you for so perfectly nailing all that's wrong with it, and for making the last three days so much damn fun.

  15. Hi, Jen. I wanted to thank you for these recaps. Seriously, they are the best and most humorous dissection I've read. I showed them to one of my friends who thought that 50 Shades was a great romance; she has since changed her tune. Thank you for being feminist; thank you for being an actual human being. You are awesome. (Plus, you like cake. That alone makes you a very cool cucumber :) )

  16. Haha, I've just noticed that I'm a big fat hypocrite. I hated the 50 Shades books so really enjoy ratcheting up my outraged-feminist-o-meter right along with you. But when you do the same thing with your Buffy recaps, I don't like that at all, even though I see your point, because I love Buffy and basically wish I could jack in my job and go off and be a member of the Scooby gang and/or Rupert Giles' girlfriend in a parallel universe.

Say some stuff! If you can't think of anything to say, leave a link to a cute dog picture. I'm easy.
